10 ways to live a healthier life through essential oils

Can anyone tell me why essential oils are so under rated? Or is it simply because we are not educated enough about plants and natural remedies to help alleviate pain.
I always knew about lavender essential oil and that it helps to induce sleep, it calms and distresses and smells great. It wasn’t until I started an aromatherapy course that there is more to essential oils that we do not know or aware of. Most people would tend to use essential oils to burn in an oil burner but what most of you don’t know that there are also spiritual, emotional and mental senses of well-being through inhalation and massage of essential oils.
Essential oils are derived from plants and are chosen for their particular therapeutic qualities that are stimulating, refreshing and sedative. Massage is used with the oils to enhance their effectiveness.
It’s more than just fragrant it has many therapeutic purposes and is recognized as one of the most natural and holistic treatments available.
Aromatherapy does not aim to treat disease. It aims to release feelings of well being, harmony and improved mental and physical health.
The inhalation of the aromas of essential oils have a profound and instant effect on us. By stimulating the limbic system, our sub conscious associates this with an emotional state or behavior. The breathing in of the essential oils is thought to trigger memories and emotions and in turn instantly recalls that associated emotion – pleasure, happiness, laughter, affection, sadness, pain or grief. Each essential oil has its own therapeutic healing property.
With aromatherapy the aim is to influence the energy flow and remove any blockages within the body. Essential oils can be diluted in carrier oils so that special blend can be used in massage. Massage is an effective way of getting back in touch with the body. Touch is not just used to heal; it can be a very effective way of preventing illness, with the stresses and strains of living in the world today. It can be so easy to get out of touch with your body and therefore out of touch with reality. That is why it is so important that through your body you receive sensory messages that let you know what you need and how you are feeling emotionally. Aromatherapy and massage are highly effective in treating the overall person. The body, the mind and the spirit. These therapies calm, soothe tension and bring balance to the body.
You can inhale it, you can dilute it, and you can also use it as a perfume. If any of you have ever been to the Body shop you will know that they use essential oils and make perfume from it. Again not only are you get a beautiful long lasting aroma, but it’s also beneficial for your health. For example. Jasmine has amazing aroma, for me it’s a very feminine smell. But the benefits of jasmine on the skin are magical. Jasmine softens and smoothes dry, irritated skin and inhibits bacteria. It balances the production of sebum, thereby helping acne and oily skin and it has a hormone balancing action. When inhaled it helps to speed recovery of giving birth. Relieves cramps and muscular spasms during period and soothes and comforts woman aliments as well as alleviating stress to balancing our emotional well-being. Now what other perfume does that? It’s natural; it’s cheaper and more effective.
These are just a few examples of why I think essential oils are under rated. I could write a book but I just wanted to pop up to remind you that essential oils can improve all aspects of your general wellbeing.
When you have the gift of health, you need to maintain it.
